Electra Aero raises funds through venture financing

Aerospace start-up Electra Aero received investment from Statkraft Ventures, with funding to be applied to the company’s hybrid-electric ultra-short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft development.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed. Statkraft, Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy, has made NOK11bn ($1.08bn) worth of investments since 2021.

Ampaire acquires eVTOL developer Talyn

Electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developer Talyn has been acquired by hybrid propulsion company Ampaire.

Talyn co-founder and CEO Jamie Gull and CTO Evan Mucasey will continue as advisors to Ampaire following the completion of the deal. Both companies are based in the greater Los Angeles area in California, US. The financial details of the transaction were not made public.

MSC in “ongoing negotiations” over AlisCargo purchase

Shipping giant Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is reportedly preparing to acquire AlisCargo Airlines in order to bolster the MSC Air Cargo operation.

“AlisCargo can confirm that the negotiations with MSC Group are ongoing,” AlisCargo said in a statement. “At the moment, it’s not possible to provide further information until the discussions with the counterpart and the authorisations of the competent bodies will have been successful.”

AIP now a minority shareholder in Dreamstone

Aviation asset management and investment firm AIP Capital has completed a minority investment and joint venture (JV) agreement with Dreamstone Aviation Partners. AIP will hold around 30% of the shares in Dreamstone and will be represented on the board of directors. Financial details of the agreement have not been confirmed.
