This year has been another bumper crop of airport analysis and reporting for AIR. We’ve discovered airports’ ability to create major social change, and potentially create a rift between local communities and environmentalists. We’ve found out how airports are trying to become more accessible, both to passengers with disabilities and to those with minority gender identities. And we explored the benefits of new technologies, from airport security to speeding up runway operations.

Heading into 2020, we will have plenty more to discover, as airports continue to face pressure regarding their environmental output, take steps to ensure that passengers are well catered for at airports, and are able to cope with increasing demand. For now, take a read of some of AIR’s greatest hits from 2019.
