By enlarging two wings of the terminal building, it creates more space for group check-in services, adding more shops and restaurants. A brand new observation deck is also built to offer visitors a close look at the busy airport operation. As the airport is keen to create smart travel experiences and speedy immigration Inspection, 26 self-bag dropping facilities, E-Gate and F-Gate services, along with a home-to-plane luggage service and In-Town Check-In (ITCI) have been installed in terminals and the A1 Taipei Main station of the Airport MRT. In addition, terminal 3 is set to be completed by 2023 and commence operation in 2024. The completion of Terminal 3 will add 45 million passengers per annum with 27 boarding gates, which relieve the pressure caused by the fast growing passenger traffic.
