Issue 62 | December 2020

As this testing year comes to a close, airports and airlines are looking for reasons to be cheerful. Our team of writers comes together to submit what the industry has to look forward to in 2021.

Covid-19 will continue to be a hot topic in the year ahead, and we ask where airports are on the path towards providing speedy testing methods that can safely identify the disease in passengers without jamming up security lines.

We find out what the UK Government's move away from tax-free shopping will mean for airports in the country, and also ask whether so-called nowhere 'flights to nowhere' - a concept being launched by Singapore Airlines - might be a viable counter to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Finally in our December issue: we look back at cutting-edge aircraft concepts announced this year, speak to Israel Aerospace Industries about integrating drones into civil aviation operations, and find out about San Francisco Airport's mission to make its terminals quieter for passengers.
